Upon hearing these words, the tiger was surprised and asked for the reason. The fox shouted: "To tell you the truth, it was I who was accredited by God in the forest as king of all animals! If you kill me, it will be against the will of God, you know?

Seeing that the tiger had become suspicious, the fox added: "Let's take a test, let's go through the forest, follow me and you will see how the animals frighten me." The tiger has accepted.

Then the fox walked proudly in front of the tiger through the forest. As you can imagine, the animals, seeing the tiger behind, were terribly scared and fled. Then the fox says with pride: "There is no doubt that what I said is true, is not it?"

Exceed | Short Stories In English

A child with his parents was traveling in his car. The father was driving and the son was sitting back. Dad drove his car carefully because he was very dear to him.

After a few minutes of travel, a modern car passed in front of his car.
His son told his father: "Dad, this car has been in front of us, use the accelerator to overtake this car."
Dad said smiling: "My son, it is not possible, our car can not go so fast".

Seconds later, another car preceded them. His son got angry and asked his father to press the accelerator.

Dad told his son: "We only see cars in front of us, there are many cars behind us, and if we try to catch them in front of us, we can end up damaging our car."

The son replied softly: "Dad, you are comparing me with other smart kids and you tell me to stay like this, if I try to be like them, I could end up hurting myself! Kids smarter than me, but you do not see the kids behind my.

The Dripping Basket | Short Stories In English

A former Indian farmer lived on a mountain farm with his young grandson. Every morning he would get up early, sitting at the kitchen table, reading his Bhagavad Gita (holy book). His grandson wanted to be like him and tried to imitate him in every way possible.

One day, the grandson asked: "Grandpa, I try to read the Bhagavad Gita like you, but I do not understand it and I forget what I understand when I close the book." What is the purpose of reading the Gita?

The grandfather turned his back gently to the coal and replied: "Bring that basket of coal to the river and bring me a basket of water."

The boy did as he was told, but all the water flowed before he got home. Grandpa laughed and said, "You'll have to move a little faster next time" and send it back to the river with the basket to try again.

This time, the child ran faster but the basket was empty before returning home. Breathless, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket and instead went to find a bucket. The old man said, "I do not want a bucket of water, I want a basket of water, you're not doing enough," and went out to see the child try again.

At this point, the child knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that, even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would flow before he got home.

The boy sank the basket back into the river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather, the basket was empty again. Breathless, he said: "Look Grandpa, it's useless!"

"So you think it's useless?" Said the old man, "Look at the basket."

The boy looked at the basket and realized for the first time that the basket was different. It had been transformed from an old dirty coal basket and now it was clean, inside and out.

"Son, that's what happens when you read the Bhagavad Gita, you may not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, internally and externally, the work of spiritual knowledge in our lives."

Keep doing good, even if it seems to go nowhere. With time, in the same way that water polishes the stone, the spiritual teachings soften the edges of the soul and make it "educated", pure and clean. No inner work is ever lost.

The  Beautiful Heart | Short Stories In English

One day, in a huge crowded place, a young man began shout.

"All People, look at me. I have the most beautiful heart in the world."

(Short Stories In English)
Many people looked at him and were stunned to see his beautiful heart in a perfect shape, without any flaw. It looked quite amazing. Most of the people who saw his heart were mesmerized by the beauty of his heart, and praised him.

However, there came an old man who challenged the young man, "No my son, I have got the most beautiful heart in the world!"

The young man asked him, "Show me your heart, then!"

The old man showed his heart to him. It was very rough, uneven, and had scars all over. In addition, the heart was not in shape; it appeared like bits and pieces joined in various colours. There were some rough edges; some parts were removed, and fitted with other pieces.

The young man started laughing, and said, "My dear old man, are you mad? See, my heart! How beautiful and flawless it is. You cannot find even a bit of imperfection in my heart. See, yours? It is full of scars, wounds, and blemishes. How can you say your heart is beautiful?"

"Dear boy, my heart is just as beautiful as your heart is. Did you see the scars? Each scar represents the love I shared with a person. I share a piece of my heart with others when I share love, and in return I get a piece of heart, which I fix at the place from where I have torn a piece!" said the old man.

The young man was shocked.

The old man continued, "Since the pieces of heart I shared were neither equal nor in the same shape or size, my heart is full of uneven edges and bits and pieces. My heart is not in shape because sometimes I do not get love in return from those to whom I gave it. Your heart that looks fresh and full with no scars indicates that you never shared love with anybody. Isn't that true?"

The young man stood still and did not speak a word. Tears rolled down his cheeks. He walked to the old man, tore a piece of his heart and gave the piece to the old man.

Moral: Many give importance and respect to physical beauty. Yet, real beauty is not physical!

The Priest And Goat | Short Stories In English

Once, there was a pious priest in a small town. He was a very innocent and simple man who practiced religious rituals. Once, he was rewarded by the goat for his services rendered by a rich man. The priest was happy to receive a goat as a reward. Happily he put the goat on his shoulder and started the trip home. On the way, three cheats (thugs) saw the priest take the goat.

All were lazy and wanted to cheat the priest to get the goat. They said: "This goat will make a delicious meal for all of us. They discussed the issue with each other and devised a plan to obtain the goat by deceiving the priest. After deciding on the plan, they separated and took different hiding places in three different places on the way to the priest.

As soon as the priest arrived in an isolated place, one of the cheats came out of hiding and asked the priest in a surprising way: "Sir, what are you doing? I do not understand why a pious man like you needs to bring a dog On his shoulders, the priest was surprised to hear such words and shouted: "Do not you see? It's not a dog, it's a goat, silly. "The cheat replied:" Sir, I beg your pardon. I told you what I saw. I'm sorry if you do not believe it. The priest was upset by the discrepancy, but resumed his trip.

The priest had just walked when another trickster came out of his hiding place and asked the priest: "Sir, why does he carry a calf on his shoulders? You seem to be a wise person." Such an act is pure stupidity on your part. The priest shouted, "What, how can you confuse a live goat with a dead calf?" The second cheat replied, "Sir, it seems he is cheating himself in this regard. Either you do not know what a goat is or you do it knowingly. I just told you what I saw. Thank you. "The second cheater left with a smile, and the priest got confused, but kept walking.

(Short Stories In English)
Once again, the priest had travelled a small distance when the third cheater found him. The third cheat asked, laughing, "Sir, why does he carry a donkey on his shoulders?" That makes you laugh, and when he heard the words of the third bully, the priest became very worried. Is this really a goat? Is it a kind of ghost?

He thought that the animal on his shoulders could be a ghost, because he went from goat to dog, from dog to dead calf and from dead calf to donkey. The priest was so afraid that he threw the goat on the side of the road and ran away. The three thieves mocked the gullible priest. They caught the goat and were happy to celebrate.

Moral: Do not get carried away by what others say. Do not be fooled by those who want to take advantage of you.
